Thanks for asking this question Shane. I also have been suffering from sinusitis for some times; I can no longer count the years. Hopefully we will get a positive answer, along with guidelines on how to harness the right energy to reduce inflammation and mucus formation.
cheers!

My first suggestion is to try our Golden Light Meditation. This meditation guides you through various acupoints and energy channels stimulating energy along the way.
There is an area where we "feel and relax" our sinuses. Once you get more adept at the meditation you can spend more time on one area than another. Whenever I get a bit congested I really focus on the sinus area and generally speaking the mucus that is built up is released fairly quickly. Sometimes it literally just falls down the back of my throat. (sorry to be so graphic).
That is for the more immediate issues. The chronic condition of sinusitis can be managed by doing this on a daily basis. My wife has it pretty bad at times and this meditation always helps her.
One last note, when focusing on your sinuses, just don't generally focus on them as a whole. Really contemplate each and every piece of your sinus cavity. Explore the entire area with your mind up and down, inside and out. Connecting to very specific points is how the energy is stimulated.
I hope that helps. -Bill

Thanks Bill! I will try something like that. I have been doing the Six Healing Sounds (especially the lung sound) which I learned from reading Mantak Chia's books, and that has helped somewhat, but the sinus problems have really drained my energy. Shane.

There's a great exercise for clearing sinuses by world Qi Gong master, Zhi Gang Sha, in his book, Soul Mind Body Medicine (2006), plus remedies for about 100 conditions with great illustrations. I had a friend who had a migraine headache that just started. She did the exercise with me over the phone and within two minutes her migraine was gone (normally it would prolong for at least five days!). You should be able to find it in a library or bookstore. If you cannot, it's available on his site - www.drsha.com. Good luck! - Gloria K, RN
