hey Everyone, My name is Ray, Im 21 and in the US navy, so being stressed is normal. my father studies qigong and tried to teach me as a kid, but certian events pulled me away from it. After one week of doing qigong live, I can already feel the chi I use to feel as a child, and my stress level and dramatically decreased. This is a different approach then my father used, but I have to say its alot better. i appriciate you guys putting these classes on line. One problem though, when doing the energy gathering qi gong I feel the chi in my right hand but not my left, Why is that? Anyway thanx agian you guys!

Hi Ray,
First and foremost thanks for your service. My father was a USMC for 20 years.
Welcome to our site. I'm glad you found us and are already finding benefit from the videos.
Feeling more Chi in one hand or one part of the body than another is very typical. We definitely all have a propensity towards one hand or another when doing tasks. Some of us are right handed, some left. A very small percentage are ambidextrous, they can use both hands equally well. That's one example.
What is really going on though is that you are more mentally "connected" to your right hand than your left. You are able to contemplate that hand very well and also relax it. It's not working so well with your left. You simply need to keep practicing and try to get better connected with your left hand.
It can also mean that you are holding more tension in your left arm / hand. We can only feel our energy when our body is fully relaxed. If you are holding any tension in that area it is hard to feel your energy. You must be soft and relaxed. And don't just look at your hand for signs of tension.
One of the first places we hold tension is our shoulders. Your left shoulder could be very tense, which could prevent your arm and your hand from being fully relaxed.
One final thing I'll mention is to not force things. Just relax and allow this to happen. It will work, it just may take longer to experience it in certain parts of the body. When you get really good at the Energy Gathering Qi Gong your entire body will feel full of electricity. It's great stuff!
I hope that helps.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear of the condition you are in. Let me try to provide what insight I can from my experience.
I've had many people in my classes over the years who were severely overweight. The meditation and Qigong helped quite a few of them. As I've said in several other posts - Qigong is not the magical cure for all that ails us. It truly is up to the individual if they will benefit from this type of art.
What I can guarantee is that if you follow along with all of the lessons on this site diligently and with an open heart you will become a more balanced individual mentally, physically and spiritually.
Balance is what we should strive for. Too much or too little of anything is not good. The issues your are experiencing are manifestations of an imbalance. Something is "out of whack". This imbalance could be physical, emotional or spiritual.
In order to begin to get healthier you need to find this imbalance. One of the immediate benefits of following these lessons is that you will become more in touch with your body. Once that happens you can really begin to overcome your current situation and start on the path towards better health.
I hope that helps at least a little Brian. You are at the beginning of a journey, one that cannot be thoroughly explored in one forum post.
Please let me know if you have any more questions or would like me to expand on anything I have said. I'm happy to help you in any way that I can.
Good luck to you, -Bill

Hi Ramon, I will never make any grand claims that the Qi Gong taught here will slow down the aging process. There is no fountain of youth. What I can tell you is that if you are seeking a more balanced lifestyle, physically and emotionally, Qi Gong will help you on that journey.
I hope that helps, -Bill

Hi Ramon,
Sorry for the delayed response. I missed this one somehow.
Qi Gong can be spelled many ways. I've never seen it spelled with Qui. The first word can spelled Qi and Chi and the second word spelled Gong and Kung. Regardless of the spelling, these are all the same general category of exercise. However, keep in mind there are hundreds if not thousands of different styles of Qi Gong. Unlike Tai Chi which has five main families or styles, Qi Gong has evolved to include many different types of exercise and meditation.
I've personally never heard of it being practiced on magnets, but of course you should not take my knowledge or ignorance of a particular style as a good or bad thing. I've trained under the same master for over 10 years and continue to study only that which is disseminated from him.
I hope that helps a little Ramon. Anything else I can clarify please let me know.
-Bill
