This week's quote is more of a passage than a single quote. I came across this passage over the weekend when doing some reading and thought it defined very well what is meant when we say "mindfulness".
The Sutra of Mindfulness says, "When walking, the practicioner must be conscious that he is walking. When sitting the practitioner must be conscious that he is sitting. When lying down, the practitioner must be conscious that he is lying down..."
The mindfulness of the position of one's body is not enough, however. We must be conscious of each breath, each movement, every thought and feeling, everything which has any relation to ourselves.

One who lives in accordance with nature
does not go against the way of things.
He moves in harmony with the present moment
always knowing the truth of just what to do.

Be still
Become totally empty
Quiet the restlessness of the mind
Only then will you witness everything
unfolding from emptiness
See all the things flourish and dance in variations
